A BRIEF HISTORY:
The New York Yankees are the best team in baseball. They have won 26 World Series. The Yankees began their incredible winning streak in the 1920's when they made the best trade ever. They got baseball legend George "Babe" Ruth. up to the 1980's the Yankees won over 20 titles. The 1980s were the worst years for Yankees. They didn't win any titles and in one year they were the worst team in the American League and the second worst team in baseball.
In 1996 the Yankees brought the rookie Derek Jeter up from the minors and won another World Series. After that the Yankees started to win again and now have 26 World Series victories, thats more than any other team in baseball. The Yankees are our favorite team and we hope they are yours too.
